Brian O'Grady hits three home runs as Cleburne takes four of six in Chicago

CHICAGO – The Cleburne Railroaders (13-10) played a six-game series on the road last week taking on the Chicago Dogs (11-10) at Impact Field in Chicago. The Cleburne offense continued to stay hot from the previous week scoring at least nine runs in three of the six games this series.

Brian O'Grady was the home run leader for Cleburne last week, hitting three and recording seven RBIs. O'Grady has hit eight home runs this season.

Hill Alexander contributed to Cleburne's hot offense with three multi-hit games including a four hit game in Tuesday's win. Alexander is batting .274 in 21 games so far this season.

Thomas Dillard hit two home runs in this series also recording a four hit game win Wednesday's 10-1 win. After knocking in six runs in Chicago, Dillard now has 15 RBIs on the year.

Shed long had a slow start to the series going hitless in the first three games but picked it up getting five hits in the three games of the series including a three hit game in the first game of Sunday's double header. Long is batting .313 on the year.

Carter Aldrete had two multi-hit games getting two hits in Thursday's game and two hits Sunday. Aldrete is batting .319 with 19 RBIs this season.

Johnathon Tripp (2-0) made two appearances for Cleburne this week, getting the start in Tuesday's 9-8 win and making a technical relief appearance in the 13-10 game five win. Saturday's game was suspended in the first inning due to weather and was resumed as the first game of a double header on Sunday. Tripp pitched a total of nine and 1/3 innings giving up 12 runs.

Kyle Johnston (1-1) made his one and only start last week in the 2-1 loss on Thursday. Johnston pitched six and 1/3 innings giving up two runs off four hits and striking out five batters. Johnston has 19 strikeouts in 17 and 2/3 innings pitched so far this year.

Justin Kleinsorge (0-3) made the start on Saturday pitching just 2/3 of an inning before a weather delay. The game would be suspended and resumed on Sunday afternoon. Kleinsorge has an 8.55 ERA in five starts this season.

Joe Corbett (1-0) came in to close two games in the series recording saves in both appearances. The first being in the 9-8 win on Tuesday and the other in the made up 13-10 win on Sunday. Corbett has five saves and a 2.79 ERA this season.

Mark Washington (2-0) appeared in two games in this series pitching four and 1/3 scoreless relief innings. Washington has a 1.31 ERA in nine games this season.

Cleburne now heads back to La Moderna Field to host the Gary SouthShore RailCats (7-15) in a six-game series starting on Tuesday. Gary SouthShore are currently in last place in the East Division. Cleburne now sits in second place in the East Division just a game and half back of the first place Kane County Cougars.
